Notes:  For 1946-1962, these championships were organized by the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Trinidad & Tobago which had been founded on 16 Jun 1945.  The 1969-1970 championships were organized by the National Athletes Union, founded in 1967.  In 1971, the Trinidad & Tibago National Amateur Athletic Association was constituted as the national governing body and has organized these championships since 1972.  In 2008, the word amateur was dropped from the name of the NGB.
