Notes: 1948 was the inaugural year. The 1948 race followed the route of the 1932 Olympic Marathon and finished
at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The race was moved to Culver City for the 1949 race. From 1955, the race was known
as the Western Hemisphere Marathon. The 1962-63 courses are considered to have been short. The 1968 course was
certified but the reported times were taken 513m before the finish because it was claimed that the course was 564m
over-distance. A remeasurement of the course proved this to be the case; Deines time was 2:22:28 for the full (long)
course. This race was a qualifier for the 1968 USA Olympic Trials Marathon.
