Notes: This race was held every other year from 1947 through 1991. It has been held annually since 1991. The year
2000 event was cancelled due to a large explosion of fireworks that destroyed much of the center of the town near
where the marathon course runs. The race was known as the Twente Marathon from 1992 through 2002. The 1949 race
distance was about 40 km. Starting in 2016 there was only prize money for elite women.
