Notes: 1962 was the inaugural year. For 1997, the race was run from
Reggio Emilia to
Carpi. For 1999 to 2011 and 2013-date, the race has been run from Maranello to Carpi, a distance
of 28 km, a drop of 2.4 m/km. The race started and finished in Carpi for
all other years. The 1988 race is considered as a test run by the present organizers; the distance
was about 41.9 km. Races prior to 1988 were organized by a different group than at present.. The 1969 course was
approximately 41 km. This race was also known as the Italia Memorial Enzo
Ferrari Marathon. In 2016, Jaouad Zain (MAR) finished first in 2:23:57 but was
later disqualified for drug use.
