Notes: 1981 was the inaugural year.  This race was known as the Western Mail Marathon for 1981-1986.  The 1981-83 course was a single loop west to Barry; the 1984-86 course was a double loop in Cardiff, all course starting at finishing at the Civic Centre.  The 1990-92 courses started and finished at the Eastern Leisure Centre.  The 2003-06 races finished at the Millennium Stadium.
